Titans Seek First Conference Win Of Season

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Coming off a split of two matches in last Friday’s four-team event on the Titusville Campus, the Brevard Community College volleyball team hits the road again for a Tuesday match at Indian River State College in Fort Pierce.

The Florida College System Activities Association Southern Conference match begins at 7 p.m.

Indian River State is 2-1 in the conference and 6-7 overall while BCC is 0-3 in the conference and 3-11 overall.

BCC broke an eight-match losing streak by defeating St. Johns River State College in four sets on Friday, but then fell to Florida State College Jacksonville also in four sets.

Titans head coach Herb Tokumoto expects another challenging match against Indian River State.

“Coach Stephanie Skidmore always has a competitive team,” Tokumoto said. “They finished second in our conference last season so I expect her team to be formidable.
“My expectation is for a match up that will be intense and filled with great ball play.”

And once again, Tokumoto will emphasize the team concept.

“We stress to the team that we must work within our system of play all the time,” he said. “We always play for each other and together as a team.”
