Hueston’s goals were her eighth, ninth and 10th of the season, tying her with fellow sophomore Lois Edvardsson for the team lead. Kumaning’s goal, her fifth of the season, capped the scoring on what BCC head coach Jeff Carr called the best ball of the year.

“It was beautiful,” Carr said of the strike from 20-23 yards out.

The victory moved BCC to 12-1 on the season. Next up for the Titans, who are ranked No. 1 nationally in the NJCAA Division I poll, is the NJCAA District H championship game on Nov. 3 in Mississippi.

The match against either Pearl River Community College or Meridian Community College – they play on Saturday to determine who meets BCC – will decide the district representative in the NJCAA Division I national championship tournament to be played Nov. 12 to 17 at Melbourne Central Catholic High School.

The regular season finish is the best for the BCC program which is in its third year of existence. BCC’s only loss was a 4-1 defeat at the hands of defending national champion Tyler (Texas) Junior College on Sept. 8 in Kansas.

Since then BCC has won 10 straight matches, including one by forfeit, and has posted six shutouts, outscoring its opponents 28-4.
