Credit Card Thief Bilks Merchants In Cocoa Beach

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – Police in Cocoa Beach are searching for a suspect who was using a stolen credit card to bilk local merchants here last week.

Cocoa Beach Police Department public information officer Major Jay Harnon said the suspect used a stolen credit card at about 1:30 p.m. Oct. 9 to purchase gas at the Sunoco station at 5625 N. Atlantic Avenue in Cocoa Beach.

“It is believed the stolen credit card was used at other locations in the area that day,” Harmon said.

To help catch the suspect, Harmon said police have released photos from video surveillance taken of the suspect at the Sunoco gas station.

Harmon said that anyone with information is asked to call CRIMELINE at 1-800-432-TIPS. (8477)  Callers may remain anonymous and can be eligible for cash rewards of up to $1,000.
