‘Creepy Creatures’ invade Barrier Island Center Today

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE BEACH, FLORIDA – They’re everywhere if you look hard enough.

A free Halloween Party with “Creepy Creature” encounters with snakes, alligators, scorpions, tarantulas, bats and more will be held Saturday afternoon at the Barrier Island Center in Melbourne Beach. (Shutterstock image)

A free ‘not-so’scary’ Halloween Party, complete with “Creepy Creature” encounters with snakes, alligators, scorpions, tarantulas, bats and more will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27, at the Barrier Island Center, 8385 South Highway A1A, in Melbourne Beach.

There will be hands-on Halloween Eco-Art, a special guest presentation by Bat Belfrys Inc.,“Bats: Myth & Reality,” and a special showing of “Backyard Barn Owls.”

Children are encouraged to dress up for a costume parade and try the edible insect candy.

“Creepy Creatures” will be available for up-close and personal connections courtesy of Animal Love Inc. and Erna Nixon Park.

The Barrier Island Center is owned and managed by the Brevard County Environmentally Endangered Lands Program. The center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays to Sundays.
