Jack Beyer, 91, Passes Away

OBITUARY
BREVATD COUNTY • SATELLITE BEACH, FLORIDA – John F. (Jack) Beyer, 91, of Satellite Beach, left this earth peacefully on September 12, 2012 to join his loving wife of 48 years, Mary Elizabeth Beyer, who died in November 1996.
He was predeceased by his son, John F. Beyer, parents and brothers Gerald, Arthur and Donald Beyer.
Jack was born on June 6, 1921 to Arthur and Rhea Beyer in Detroit, MI. He worked at A.O. Beyer Coal Company and Ford Motor Company for many years. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps for 2 years, during World War II. He flew 50 missions in Italy as an engineer gunner on a B24.
In 1964, he and his wife Mary moved with their then 10 children to Florida to join his brother Don as co-owner of South Patrick Hardware and Lumber in Indian Harbour Beach, where he worked from 1964 until 2010.
He was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
He is survived by 10 children: (Kathleen), Patricia (Harold) Poole, David (Anne), Michael (Sandra), Donald (Sherry), Mary, Richard (Teresa), Janet (Mary), Barbara, Paul (Robin) and Stephen (Robert). He is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Jack loved living in Florida and never missed the cold and snow of Michigan. He particularly enjoyed golfing, fishing and boating. He was a generous and loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family would like to thank VITAS for their loving care and support of Jack and his family. Donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
Visitation will be Sunday, September 16 at 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at Beach Funeral Home, Indian Harbour Beach. Mass will be celebrated Monday at 11 a.m. at Holy Name of Jesus. Burial will follow at Florida Memorial Gardens at 1:30 p.m.
