Two Matches Friday In Lake Sumter

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Brevard Community College volleyball team closed the home portion of its season on a disappointing note on Thursday losing in four sets to Polk State College at the Melbourne Campus gym.

BCC fell 25-22, 19-25, 19-25 and 23-25, after blowing a 10-2 lead in the final set.

The defeat dropped the Titans to 7-24 with two matches remaining in its season in a tri-match on Friday at Lake Sumter Community College.

Polk improved to 19-10 with the win.

Ashley Gonzales led BCC in kills with 15. Taylor Gembecki recorded 20 assists and Sara Watkins 16 digs.

The match was the home finale for four BCC sophomores, Jamie Darragh, Kayla Sullivan, Beth Williams and Melbourne’s Alicia Vaccarelli.
