BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – It’s hard to miss Gary Gaskins when he enters a room.

At 6-foot-10, Gaskins’ stature on and off the basketball court is impressive.

And the Brevard Community College men’s basketball team center and power forward from Beaufort, S.C. is off to a great start this season.

Against Hillsborough on Saturday, Gaskins, who is serving as one of the Titans’ tri-captains this year, scored 12 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.

Gaskins served in the Air Force before arriving at BCC and his play is drawing attention.

He has received offers from Division I universities Oklahoma, Florida Atlantic, South Alabama, University of Alabama-Birmingham and Southern Mississippi while Marshall, Marquette, Tennessee, Mississippi State, Wright State and the University of North Carolina-Wilmington, among others, have expressed interest.

We caught up with Gaskins at the BCC Winter Sports Media Day and asked him his impressions of Melbourne and what he expects from the team this season.
