MELBOURNE, FLORIDA (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO) – Melbourne Greyhound Park put up a big “Thank You” sign for voters on Wednesday.

“We’re planning on building a major entertainment facility,” said Melbourne Greyhound Park president Patrick Biddix, who is moving forward with plans to build a brand new, $50 million entertainment and gaming facility on 40 acres of vacant land off Eau Gallie Road. (WOFL FOX 35 ORLANDO image)

It is intended to be an appreciative gesture for their overwhelming approval of the slot machine referendum in Brevard County.

“We’re planning on building a major entertainment facility,” said Melbourne Greyhound Park president Patrick Biddix, who is moving forward with plans to build a brand new, $50 million entertainment and gaming facility on 40 acres of vacant land off Eau Gallie Rd.

Plans call for 2,000 slot machines, a new poker room and theater and upscale dining.
