FIT Tops BCC In Men’s Golf

Panthers Win Collegiate Players Cup

BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – Florida Tech’s golfers held on over the third and final day of the Collegiate Players Cup to defeat Brevard Community College, 9-7 on Sunday at Duran Golf Club in Viera.

BCC played FIT to a 4-4 tie on Sunday but the advantage the winners built on Saturday stood up.

“It was three good days of competition,” BCC head coach Jamie Howell said. “Hats off to Florida Tech for winning the third annual Collegiate Players Cup. We made a good run today and again struggled finishing off the matches.”

On Sunday, BCC’s Nelson Apsey defeated FIT’s Wyatt Racette 5 and 4; BCC’s Brett Maue halved with Jimmy Bologna; BCC’s Anthony Skirk defeated Brett Krog, 5 and 4; BCC’s Kyle Benson defeated David Glenister, 1-up; BCC’s Nick Maynard halved with Andrew Wuethrich; BCC’s Blake Biggs lost to Brandon Lau, 2 and 1; BCC’s Keith Greene lost to Justin Kalanquin 3 and 1 and BCC’s Arthur Leonard lost to Ray Badenhorst, 1-up.

Next for BCC is the Nov. 12 and 13 Central Alabama Fall Invitational at Alexander City, Ala. concluding the team’s fall season.
