Those visiting the Five Guys Burgers & Fries at The Avenue shopping plaza in Viera between 5 and 9 p.m. Thursday will assist in the effort to raise money for the Canine Commandos program.

Five Guys will donate 10 percent of its sales Thursday evening to the program.

Currently 19 schools in Brevard County participate in the Canine Commandos program.

It is a service-learning project created by Indialantic Elementary’s K.W.E.S.T. (Kreative Wise Eagles Soar Together) teacher, Virginia Hamilton.

Brevard County students in the program train dogs in local animal shelters so they can get adopted faster.

Five Guys encourages participation in this important program and wants everyone to tell their friends and family about Thursday’s event so they can raise a lot of money for the program.
