BREVARD COUNTY • TITUSVILLE, FLORIDA – Best known for their highly entertaining “retro country” stage show, The Karl Shiflett & Big Country Show roll into Titusville for a single concert on Saturday.
The 7 p.m. performance will be at the North Brevard Shrine Club at 545 N. Washington Avenue in Titusville.
Based in Texas, the group captures the irrepressible and audience-pleasing quality of country and bluegrass acts of the 1940’s and 1950’s.
The Karl Shiflett & Big Country Show cultivates an “old school” sound, performing around a single vintage RCA 44 ribbon microphone. Their retro authenticity in concert and recordings has brought them acclaim as one of the most recognizable groups in bluegrass today.
This is the third group of the 2012-13 season to be brought to Titusville by Central Florida bluegrass promoter J.T. Shealy.
“This is the sound that many of us grew up with,” said Shealy. “It’s almost like traveling back in time to the days of Bill Monroe, Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs.”
J.T’s Bluegrass has been bringing bluegrass performers to Brevard since 2007. Eight of the top 15 acts of 2012 named by Bluegrass Unlimited magazine have performed in Titusville for Shealy’s audiences.
Tickets are available for $21 tickets online at www.JTsBluegrass.com or by calling 321-222-7797 for more information.
