Lady Titans Now 2-11 Overall

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – ASA College’s women’s basketball team closed the first half with a 10-0 run to build a 45-29 lead en route to an 80-55 victory over Brevard Community College in Saturday’s final game of the fourth annual Lady Titans Classic in the Melbourne Campus gym.

ASA of Brooklyn, N.Y., improved to 6-1. BCC fell to 2-11, losing its eighth straight game.

Sophomores Olivia Atwell and Shaneece Stephens led BCC with 18 points each, Atwell’s coming on six three-pointers. Sophomore Tiffany Jones led ASA with 17 points.

In other Classic games on Saturday nationally sixth-ranked Shelton State Community College of Tusaloosa, AL, improved to 14-0 with a 77-57 victory over St. Petersburg Community College. Also, the Brevard Flame defeated the College of Central Florida, which only dressed five players, 54-47.

BCC is now off for the Christmas holiday and next plays Dec. 28 at Hillsborough Community College in Tampa.

BCC’s next home game is 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 3 against St. Louis Community College.
