BREVARD COUNTY • MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA – Old-fashioned Christmas fun awaits guests at The Sams House at Pine Island throughout December.

All activities will be free all month long and geared for the entire family.
Here’s a list of what’s left on the schedule in December:
• Family Tree Craft from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 27. Using our template and your family pictures, we’ll create a family tree worthy of framing.
• Florida History Expedition from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Dec. 28. Perfect for elementary school-aged children and their families, we’ll travel back in time to Florida’s beginnings, sift for Ice Age fossils, practice throwing a spear, and learn about pioneer life.
The Sams House at Pine Island is owned and managed by the Brevard County Environmentally Endangered Lands Program. It is at 6195 North Tropical Trail on Merritt Island, about a half-mile west of State Road 3.
The center is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursdays to Saturdays. Tours of the cabin and the adjacent 1888 home are offered at 3 p.m. every Thursday.
