Traffic Signal Installation Causes Delays

BREVARD COUNTY • WEST MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Transportation officials are warning West Melbourne motorists that pending roadwork may result in lane closures and commuting delays on a heavily traveled road next week.

Brevard County Public Works Engineers say that Wickham Road near Sheridan Road in West Melbourne will experience intermittent lane shifts from Wednesday, Dec. 12 through Thursday, Dec. 13.

The lane shifts will be between the hours of 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. on those days.

The work is for the installation of new traffic signal drill shafts on the west side of Wickham Road at Sheridan Road.

Traffic control signs and flagmen will be on site to assist motorists in navigating the construction.

Weather conditions and other unforeseen circumstances could affect the construction schedule.
