Sandra Jane Klaver Dies of Sudden Illness

OBITUARY

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Sandra (Sandie) Jane Klaver, 68, passed away of a sudden illness on Wednesday, Nov.28, 2012. She was born in Atlanta, GA on July 18, 1944. 

Sandie grew up in Holland, MI where she attended high school, and later graduated from Michigan State University. After her marriage to Bob Klaver in June 1966, they started an Army career which took them to England, Korea and several military assignments in the United States.

In addition to supporting Bob’s military and defense contractor careers, Sandie was a teacher, public relations executive, arts council co-chair and a very active volunteer in several cities. She was also a candidate for Army Wife of the Year as a result of her vigorous volunteer activities.

After coming to Melbourne in 2002, Sandie became very active in the Brevard Arts Museum, several women’s support organizations, Brevard Zoo and Melbourne Civic Theater. She had great love and passion for community volunteer work.

Sandie is survived by her husband, Bob, and several Klaver and Munson family members.

A “Celebration of Life” memorial service for Sandie will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Dec.  7, 2012 at the St. Mark’s Methodist Church, 2030 North Hwy A1A, Indialantic, FL.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Sandie’s name to the Foosaner Arts Museum, 1463 Highland Avenue, Melbourne, FL 32935 and the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas, 66675.
