Scottsmoor Flatwoods Sanctuary Plan Up For Review

Public Input Sought

BREVARD COUNTY • SCOTTSMOOR, FLORIDA – Brevard County’s Environmentally Endangered Lands Program is seeking citizen input about the Draft Land Management Plan for the Scottsmoor Flatwoods Sanctuary.

The Scottsmoor Flatwoods Sanctuary is a 1,500-acre site that straddles both sides of I-95, just south of Exit 5A (Stuckway Road) in Scottsmoor. It protects a variety of habitats including scrub, pine flatwoods, oak hammocks, depression marsh forested wetlands, and cypress forest. (Image courtesy Brevard County EEL)

Copies of the plan are available to review at the Central Brevard, Titusville and Mims/Scottsmoor Libraries, the Enchanted Forest Sanctuary, the Cocoa Agricultural Extension and at the EEL Program Office at 91 East Drive in Melbourne.
