The event begins at 7 p.m. at the library at 308 Forrest Avenue in Cocoa.

The violin player and his cellist wife, Joan Markstein, will be joined by Joni Roos on violin and Michael DeJesus on viola.

The quartet will serenade the audience with Christmas and Hanukkah favorites as well as selections from the classical repertoire, including Schubert’s String Quartet No. 13 in A minor (the Rosamunde Quartet) and the Christmas Concerto by Corelli.

Director of Brevard County Public Libraries, Jeff Thompson knows the Markstein Quartet concert will attract a large audience at the Central Brevard library in Cocoa.

“Library patrons and Brevard residents wait all year for the free holiday concert by Igor Markstein and his quartet,” said Thompson.  “They have performed in our Merritt Island library for the last few years, and we are confident they will play for an even larger audience here in the Cocoa library auditorium.

“It’s a wonderful opportunity for music lovers of all ages to experience this excellent string quartet in chamber setting,” he said. “And the kids really enjoy watching the musicians up close.”
