The national honor will be presented at the NSCAA Convention Jan. 16 to 20 in Indianapolis.

Also recognized as top regional coaches were Sal Galvano of Monroe (N.Y.) Community College (North); Brad Silvey of Iowa Western Community College (Central) and Kacey Bingham of Paradise Valley (AZ) Community College (West).

All four coaches competed in the NJCAA Division I championship tournament at Melbourne Central Catholic in November with Paradise defeating Brevard, 3-0, for the national title.

“It is always nice to be recognized by your peers,” Carr said of the award. “It really says a lot about the women and the season they had and the coaching staff, and all the support from the administration starting with (college president) Dr. (Jim) Richey.

“I am honored by the award.”
