Panthers Add Matches To Tennis Schedules

FIT Spring Season Opens Feb. 2

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA Florida Tech head tennis coach Bill Macom has announced that his men’s and women’s programs will play three more matches in their upcoming 2013 spring season.

The teams now will play five matches on their spring break trip in Hilton Head, S.C., and they will both host a doubleheader at home on March 23.

The teams will travel to Hilton Head, S.C. from March 4 to 9 and play five matches each.

On the men’s side, the Panthers added Brevard College at 9:30 a.m. March 8, giving them just one day off during the six-day trip.

On the women’s side, FIT now will face Assumption College at 9:30 a.m. March 8.

On March 23, both teams will host Puerto Rico-Mayaguez and Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras in a doubleheader.

The Panthers will take on UPR-Mayaguez beginning at noon, and then will face UPR-Rio Piedras at 3:30 p.m. The matches will take place at the Fee Avenue Courts.

The spring season is set to begin on Saturday, Feb. 2 when FIT hosts Barry at the Fee Avenue Courts. The women will begin at noon and the men will follow at 2 p.m.
