Special Operation Results In Prostitution Arrests

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Officers from the Melbourne Police Department are continuing efforts to rid the city of prostitution and this week conducted a special operation to identify and arrest prostitutes.

Melbourne Police Department Public Information Officer Sgt. Sheridan Shelley said the MPD’s Special Operations Unit conducted a prostitution detail within the city in the early morning hours on Thursday.

“There were a total of three arrests in the south end of the city around the south U.S. Highway  1 corridor,” Shelley said.

He said police arrested Toni Lynn Beaupre, 27, Shauna Marie Robertson, 32, and Melissa Anne Boykin, 27.

Beaupre was charged with prostitution, sale of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Robertson was charged with prostitution.

Boykin was charged with felony prostitution.

  1. Oh look, another prostitution sting where only WOMEN are arrested. I ask you, how is this fair? It takes TWO people to commit this crime. So either you’re letting the men off or you’re wasting valuable police resources trying to snag desperate women (when we all know there are actual, serious crimes happening and if there aren’t, then maybe we have too many police officers). Either way, something stinks here.
