The men, who are 19-5 overall and tied for first in the Florida College System Activities Association Southern Conference with Palm Beach State College at 5-1, host Miami Dade at 2 p.m. in the Melbourne Campus gym. BCC needs a win to keep pace with Palm Beach, which has a bye on Saturday, in the fight for the conference championship and an automatic berth in the FSCAA state tournament.

BCC beat Miami Dade 96-50 in Kendall in January. Miami Dade is 10-14 overall and 0-6 in the conference.

Admission to BCC home games is free.

The women, 2-21 overall and 0-8 in the conference, will seek to break their 18-game losing streak when they visit Indian River State College at 2 p.m. in Fort Pierce.

BCC lost to Indian River, 67-44, in Melbourne in January. Indian River is 9-9 overall and 4-4 in conference good for third place.

Sophomore men’s co-captains Nyles Evans and Addison Spruill, who have been constants all season, lead BCC in scoring, averaging 16.2 points per game apiece.

Freshman Juri Gunjina leads in rebounding, averaging 7.2 per game. Freshman Ben Patrick leads in assists with 4.1 per game.

Sophomore Gary Gaskins is tied for fifth nationally in blocked shots, averaging 3.2 per game.

As for the women, who are still without sophomore co-captain and leading scorer Shaneece Stephens who is recovering from a knee injury, sophomore and co-captain Kasie Berry is leading in scoring at 7.6 points per game and rebounding at 4.6 per game.

Sophomore Shante Stevenson leads in assists with 2.1 per game.

BCC’s women return home for a 5:30 p.m. game Wednesday against Miami Dade.
