It compiles the rankings based on a mathematic formula, adjusting to factors such as wins in tournaments with at least five teams and comparisons with other teams in the top 25.

The Panthers enter the top 25 after a strong start to the spring season.

FIT opened with team and individual victories in the Titan Winter Invitational. Junior Justin Kalanquin won the individual title by one stroke in a sudden death playoff.

The Panthers took the team title, winning by two strokes.

The Crimson and Gray followed with a fourth-place finish in the Matlock Collegiate Classic. Nine nationally-ranked programs competed in the Matlock, with the Panthers finishing better than six of them.

The FIT squad also finished with the best score-to-par total in Florida Tech’s 11-year program history.

Preparing for the Sunshine State Conference Championship on April 15, FIT will compete in three more tournaments through March and into April.

The next tournament, The Southeastern Intercollegiate, will begin March 11 in Valdosta, Ga.
