Public Welcome
BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Florida Institute of Technology’s WFIT 89.5 FM, a National Public Radio (NPR) station, and the city of Melbourne are presenting a series of free concerts at the Panthereum.

The first concert is from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17.
The outdoor Panthereum is located by the Denius Student Center on the FIT campus.
The concert will feature the Don Soledad Group. Members include Soledad, flamenco guitar; Jon Warcholak, upright bass; Kevin Kornicki, drum/percussion; and Raymond Santana, Latin percussion.
The ensemble brings alive the romance and allure of Spain and Soledad’s original compositions appeal to audiences of all ages.
Growing up in a musical family of guitarists and pianists in the San Francisco Bay Area, Soledad had a natural talent for playing various instruments at a young age. It was the Spanish flamenco guitar that eventually won his heart.
He studied traditional and modern flamenco on his own and under Mimi Fox, a jazz guitarist from the Berkeley Jazz School in Berkeley, Calif. After winning first-place in the “Best of the Bay” music talent contest at the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, he toured all over Panama as a lead guitarist and worked with several artists from different music genres.
Soledad recently released an album, Soluna, last December.
Bring a blanket or lawn chair or enjoy the new seating at the Panthereum.
