Deadbeat Parents Scam System Out of Millions

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – The following individuals are wanted by the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office for failure to pay child support as established by the courts.
According to the Federal Office of Child Support Enforcement, $108 billion in total back payments was owed to parents with custody of children in 2009.
If those payments aren’t made and the children then need to go on public assistance, payments are supposed to be made to the government in the form of reimbursement.
About 49 percent of that back money — or roughly $53 billion — is owed to the government.

I was laid off twice during this economic downturn, and so-called “child-support” refused to adjust the payments. Then, they threatened to throw me in prison because I couldn’t afford it. I couldn’t even afford to keep our power on, yet I was subsidizing the ex, who quit her job, then traded her Hummer in for a 2012 Jeep. I pay 100% of my daughter’s expenses when she’s with her mother, plus her mother’s bills. Then, I still pay 100% of my daughter’s expenses during the 1/3 of the time she’s with me, and still pay her mother’s bills. This, while I can’t afford to pay my own bills. Child support is just another form of welfare. I agree with parents supporting their children, but this is the biggest form of government intrusion out there, and nobody says a word. It also violates the 14th amendment against debtors prisons. The whole system is a crock.
