Hatter Selected Health First Media Relations Specialist

BREVARD COUNTY • ROCKLEDGE, FLORIDA — Jeni Flynn Hatter has been selected by Health First as the company’s media relations specialist. Hatter has 17 years of experience in public relations, strategic communications, issues management, television broadcasting, media relations and writing.
Health First is a fully integrated health system with a mission to positively change the health and wellness of the communities they serve.
“I am thrilled to be part of the Health First team,” said Hatter. “Health First is doing incredible things for the Space Coast community and I am happy to be able to help share those stories with the public.”
A native of Orlando, and fifth generation Floridian, Hatter launched her broadcasting career at WMBB in Panama City, Florida, then moved back to her hometown and was one of the original reporters at Central Florida News 13 in Orlando. In 2002, she made the switch to public relations and worked for several years at Rollins College and Florida Hospital.
Hatter most recently served as director of media relations for the Clearwater Marine Aquarium, home to the famous tailless dolphin, “Winter.” The dolphin was the star of Dolphin Tale, a big screen movie produced by Warner Bros.-based Alcon Entertainment.
During her tenure at Clearwater Marine Aquarium, Hatter won 21 local and state public relations awards from the Florida Public Relations Association for media relations programs and community relations efforts she created and implemented. In 2009 and 2010, she earned the highest public relations awards in the state.
Hatter received a bachelor’s degree in telecommunication from the University of Florida in 1992. She also completed the Rollins College Leadership Academy in 2005 and was a member of the Leadership Orlando Class of 75.
She lives in Indialantic with her husband, Les and their two children, Lena,11, and Trey, 6. In her spare time, she enjoys yoga, kayaking and boating.
