Panthers Capture Fourth Straight Men’s Tennis Match

HILTON HEAD, SOUTH CAROLINA – Florida Tech won its fourth consecutive men’s tennis match in South Carolina with an 8-1 match victory over the Michigan Tech Huskies on Saturday.

The Panthers are now 6-3 on the season and won all three singles matches for the fourth-straight day in South Carolina.
Freshman Patrick Hernandez rejoined junior Nicolas Clerc in the top doubles pairing. The duo improved to 5-0 on the season with a 9-8 decision over Felipe Dos Santos and Pedro Rodriguez.
Sophomore Beau Fieldsend and junior Matic Leskovar also stayed unblemished with an 8-1 decision over Javier Oliveros and Built Yumuang.Fieldsend and Leskovard are now 6-0 this season.
Sophomore Riley Lorenz and senior Barry Dylewski improved to 5-2 on the season with their fourth consecutive win. The tandem defeated Jimmy Konarske and Andrew Kremkow, 8-6.
Clerc and Lorenz took the top two singles matches in straight sets. Clerc improved to 3-2 at No. 1 singles with a 6-3, 6-2 decision over Santos, while Lorenz took No. 2 singles, 6-3, 6-3, over Oliveros.
Hernandez dropped his first set in No. 3 singles action, 7-6, against Yumuang. But the freshman fought back to win set two, 6-0, and set three, 10-3, to win the match.
Leskovar defeated Rodriguez, 6-1, 6-1, in No. 4 singles to improve to 4-2 on the season.
Dylewski won his sixth-straight match to improve to 7-2 on the season after defeating Kremkow, 6-2, 6-0.
The Panthers will return home on Monday, March 11 when they host Division I Lehigh University at 2 p.m. at the Fee Avenue Courts.
