Rain Washes Out FIT Softball Game Against Northwood

WST PALM BEACH, FLORIDA – Florida Tech’s doubleheader at Northwood originally scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 19 has been postponed because of rain.

The two teams have rescheduled the doubleheader for two weeks from today at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 2.

Winners of their last 11 games, the Panthers are tied for first place in the Sunshine State Conference with a 20-12 overall record and a 7-2 conference mark.

Since their win streak began with an upset of then No. 7 Tampa on March 2, Kara Dickinson has led the team with a .432 batting average, 16 hits, including five doubles and two triples, and 12 RBIs. Amanda Smith is 7-0 with a 2.07 ERA during the stretch and her sister Taylor Smith is 4-0 with a 0.98 ERA.

On the season, Dickinson leads the team in batting average at .369. She is tied for first with 38 hits and leads with nine doubles and three triples.Amanda Smith paces FIT in the circle with a 13-5 record and a 2.43 ERA.

The Panthers will take on Lynn this Saturday and Sunday in Boca Raton.

The series will begin with a single game on Saturday at 3 p.m. and conclude with a doubleheader on Sunday starting at noon.
