Frank DiBello Receives Award In Miami
BREVARD COUNTY • CAPE CANAVERAL – The United Kingdom Trade & Investment Group has honored Space Florida President and CEO Frank DiBello with the “Consul General’s Special Recognition Award” at its Innovation Awards and Gala Dinner in Miami.
The group helps companies establish and grow their high-value investments in the United Kingdom and assists UK-based companies succeed in the global economy.
It recognized DiBello for his role in driving prosperity, and commercial and research opportunities between the UK and Florida, including signing a Memorandum of Understanding that has led to trade missions and job creation in both the UK and Florida.
“I am delighted to honor individuals and organizations who have helped expand and strengthen the growing UK – Florida trade relationship, making the UK one of the top three foreign investors in the Sunshine State,” said Her Majesty’s Consul General Kevin McGurgan, Officer of the British Empire, who works closely with UKTI and statewide economic leaders.
DiBello said he was deeply moved to receive the award.
“Space Florida is thrilled to continue cultivating this promising and successful relationship between the UK and our state,” DiBello said. “I was honored to receive this award and look forward to what the future holds for this partnership.”
Winners of the Innovation Awards were selected by a committee of judges, which included Her Majesty’s British Consul General in Florida and UKTI’s senior trade and investment executives.
Space Florida was created to strengthen Florida’s position as the global leader in aerospace research, investment, exploration and commerce.
As Florida’s spaceport authority and aerospace development organization, the organization is committed to attracting and expanding the next generation of space industry businesses.
