BCC Titans Lead In District 14 Golf Tournament

Teams To Play 18 Holes On Tuesday

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA Brevard Community College’s golf team finished Monday’s first day of the NJCAA Division I District 14 tournament in Pendleton, S.C. in first place.

Thirteen teams are competing with the the top eight finishers advancing to the NJCAA Division I national tournament in Lubbock, Texas in May. BCC has competed in the national tournament for 10 consecutive years.

BCC shot 288-282-570 for 36 holes on Monday. Wallace State of Alabama is second at 292-287-579 and Central Alabama third at 296-288-584.

Individually for BCC Blake Biggs shot 70-69-139, good for second place. Keith Greene shot 72-70-142; Anthony Skirk 72-72-144; Arthur Leonard 74-71-145 and Kyle Benson 79-81-160.

Chris Atchley of Wallace State shot 71-66-137 for first place.

“The guys did a great job today,” BCC head coach Jamie Howell said. “It was a very difficult course to score on. Small, undulating greens, you can’t miss on the wrong side of the hole.”

The teams will play 18 holes on Tuesday.
