The group will present their Spring Concert at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 27 at the Rockledge Presbyterian Church at 921 Rockledge Drive in Rockledge.

Made up of students from grades 4 to 10, the chorus and ensemble will perform a variety of choral music for the concert, including multi-cultural, light classical and some fun folk pieces.

The concert is free, with donations gratefully accepted.

Brevard Children’s Chorus Director Joani Slawson said she is pleased to showcase the group’s talent.

“Music plays a big part in the lives of these kids,” said Slawson.  “They’ve been rehearsing the concert for weeks and are excited to show the world what they can do.  We’ve got a very diverse and enjoyable program on tap for the audience.”

The select group of youngsters in the Brevard Children’s Chorus performs at venues and events throughout Brevard.

Recent performances include the Family Concert with the Brevard Symphony Orchestra at the King Center, a Viera holiday concert with the Indialantic Chamber Singers and a “flash mob” at the Melbourne Beach Public Library.

They also are scheduled to perform May 11 at the King Center with the Brevard Community Chorus in the production of the Mendelssohn oratorio, Elijah.
