Update: Fire Scorches Residence In Rockledge

BREVARD COUNTY • ROCKLEDGE, FLORIDA – Firefighters from Brevard County Fire Rescue worked intensely to extinguish a house fire in Rockledge before it spread to nearby structures on Tuesday afternoon.

The fire was reported on Woodsmere Parkway in Rockledge about 1:45 p.m. Tuesday.

By the time crews arrived to knock down the fire, flames had swept through the two-story home and the residence was fully engulfed.

Fire crews say a teen was at home when the fire started.

It is believed that the fire began in the home’s garage area.

Units from Cocoa and Rockledge Fire Departments assisted in fighting the fire.

The teen was not hurt, however, four dogs and a cat are missing from the residence.
