FIT In Seventh Place In SCC Men’s Golf Championships

Round Two Tees Off Monday

DADE CITY, FLORIDA – Florida Tech began the opening round of the Sunshine State Conference Championship at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club in Dade City on Sunday with a team total 302 to place seventh overall.

The Panthers were led by junior David Glenister, who shot a two-over-par 74 to finish round one in a tie for 12th place.

Sophomore Ray Badenhorst and junior Justin Kalanquin each finished with a 75 to tie for 22nd after day one.

Sophomore Brandon Lau completed the Panthers’ scoring with a six-over 78.

No. 1 Nova Southeastern leads the field, completing round one with a team total 288.

The Sharks’ Ricardo Celia holds a tie for the individual lead with Eckerd’s Jake Solomon at three-under-par.

No. 2 Barry and No. 3 Lynn round out the top three at 290 and 292, respectively.

The Panthers will be in the first pairings to tee off Monday for the second day of the three-day tournament.

Freshman Bret Krog will begin in the first group.

The men’s teams will begin on the back nine holes, with the women opening on the front.
