The undergraduate ceremony for those earning bachelor’s degrees will be at 9:30 a.m., while the ceremony for graduate degrees — master’s and doctoral — will be at 2 p.m.

Joined by their friends and family, 1,131 candidates are eligible to attend the ceremonies to receive diplomas this day.

The 486 undergraduate and 645 graduate students include on-campus students as well as online and students at 10 Extended Studies Department sites located throughout the United States and a virtual campus.

At the ceremony, four bachelor’s degree graduates will receive the Faculty Honors Award for maintaining high grade point averages, a perfect 4.0.

They are David Coffman, accounting major; Spencer Freeman, aerospace engineering major; Abbey Keister, communication major; and Kyle Lankford, computer information systems major.

Freeman worked at the NASA Jet Propulsion Lab in California last summer and will again this summer.

In the fall, he will attend California Institute of Technology on a fully funded graduate research fellowship.

Keister will attend Harvard University Law School this fall.

The other students’ plans are in the works.
