A search had been launched Thursday by Brevard County Sheriff’s deputies to find Charmaine Ochs, 43, who left her home about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Officer Maria Fernez of the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office said Ochs was last seen as she left her Satellite Beach residence to retrieve laundry.

She was believed to be endangered because of pre-existing medical conditions.

Her body was spotted Friday morning along State Road A1A and Berkley Street near the site of an old Perkins Restaurant by woman walking her dog nearby.

Deputies who recovered her body have termed her death “suspicious,” but the Brevard County Medical Examiner will determine her exact cause of death.

The investigation has moved from one of search to trying to find Ochs to now trying to find out what happened to her.
