BREVARD COUNTY  MERRITT ISLAND, FLORIDA — Former NFL head coach and two-time Super Bowl Champion Tony Dungy presented the Russell Athletic and All Pro Dad “Always There Award” to Merritt Island Christian School volunteer Mark Davis. MICS Athletic Director David Nevad nominated Mr. Davis for his behind-the-scenes volunteer work with the Cougars’ athletic program. Davis’ handiwork and craftsmanship contributed to the construction of bleachers, a cheerleading platform as well as a multipurpose storage facility for various athletic teams. He could also be found striping the field, setting up lights before the games and helping manage the concession stand for the games.

“Mr. Davis is one of many dedicated MICS Cougar volunteers and although both his children have already graduated from the school he continues to tirelessly work as a behind-the-scenes volunteer in the athletic program,” Nevad said.

At a luncheon in Mr. Davis’ honor, Coach Dungy, spokesperson for All Pro Dad, presented Davis with the award. All Pro Dad is a national charity dedicated to strengthening the relationship between fathers and their children and was present. As a father two of MICS graduates, Mr. Davis remains one of many dedicated MICS Cougar volunteers since his children graduated from the school.
