BREVARD COUNTY MANATEES
VIERA, FLORIDA – The Florida State League announced on Monday that Brevard County Manatees right-handed pitcher Drew Gagnon was named the league’s pitcher of the week for the period of April 29-May 5.

On May 1, Gagnon threw seven perfect innings as the Manatees defeated the Bradenton Marauders, 1-0 in a rain-shortened, eight-inning game. He also set a career-high with ten strikeouts on that afternoon.
The most pitches that a batter would see in an at-bat from Gagnon that day were seven and Gagnon reached a three-ball count only once. The 22-year-old hurler seemed to get stronger as the game went on, as he threw no more than 12 pitches a frame from the fourth inning on.
Gagnon was lifted from the game after 84 pitches, with 56 of them being strikes. As the threat of inclement weather increased, it was decided that it would be best to take Gagnon out of the game to prevent an injury.
