On May 1, Gagnon threw seven perfect innings as the Manatees defeated the Bradenton Marauders, 1-0 in a rain-shortened, eight-inning game. He also set a career-high with ten strikeouts on that afternoon.

The most pitches that a batter would see in an at-bat from Gagnon that day were seven and Gagnon reached a three-ball count only once. The 22-year-old hurler seemed to get stronger as the game went on, as he threw no more than 12 pitches a frame from the fourth inning on.

Gagnon was lifted from the game after 84 pitches, with 56 of them being strikes. As the threat of inclement weather increased, it was decided that it would be best to take Gagnon out of the game to prevent an injury.

DRAFTED IN THE THRIED ROUND IN 2011

Gagnon was drafted by the Brewers in the third round of the 2011 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft out of Long Beach State University.
