BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Space Coast Cancer Center is adding three new programs to their support and service offerings to cancer patients and the community at large.

• LUNG CANCER SUPPORT GROUP: The group will meet the first Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m. in Titusville. This group is for any lung cancer patient or survivor in Brevard County. Participants can expect information, educational materials, special speakers and to connect with other lung cancer patients and survivors.
• SMOKING CESSATION: This five week class will be offered throughout the year at Space Coast Cancer Center in Titusville. The class is taught by Lana Saal, a Master Certified Health Education Specialist (MICHES) and a Tobacco Treatment Specialist. The course provides support, educational materials and nicotine patches. The program is free, as it is funded by the state of Florida through the tax collected on tobacco products, but registration is required.
• LOW DOSE CT LUNG CANCER SCREENING: This is a low cost, self pay screening that can detect lung cancer. Potential patients must qualify for the screening and complete a brief questionnaire. This program has successfully detected early stage lung cancer which greatly increases the success of treatment and cure. The cost of the screening is $110, self pay. For information or to take the questionnaire call 855-894-4673 and ask for the CT lung cancer screening questionnaire.

The mission of the physicians and staff of Space Coast Cancer Center is to provide state-of-the-art cancer care utilizing the most modern and safest technology, follow evidence-based national guidelines, and collaborating with Moffitt Cancer Center.
“Space Coast Cancer Center is committed to cancer prevention, screening and treatment in its mission to serve all of Brevard County and provide the best cancer care possible,” said spokesperson Dawn Faust.
