ABOVE VIDEO: The Space Coast Women’s Business Expo is hosted by the Women’s Business Center at Florida Tech, which provides training, counseling, mentoring and technical assistance targeting women entrepreneurs and women-owned business.

BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – The Women’s Center at Florida Tech will host the sixth annual Space Coast Women’s Business Expo on Friday, August 2 ath the Melbourne Hilton Rialto.

“Join us for an inspiring and fun day to build, grow and make a difference in your business,” said Beth Gitlin, director of the Women’s Business Center at Florida Institute of Technology, and the event organizer.

“Our goal is to provide numerous opportunities to strengthen business practices and enhance the economic climate of the Space Coast.”

The Women’s Business Center provides, training, counseling, mentoring and technical assistance targeting women entrepreneurs and women-owned business in Brevard, Indian River, and St. Lucie counties. The center offers an environment conducive to learning the basics, getting the right answers, identifying opportunities, and building new alliances.

“The audience for this event over the past five years has included approximately 300 attendees,” said Gitlin.

INFORMATIVE, ENTERTAINING PROGRAM

Activities include networking, panel discussions, promotions, vendors, silent auction and raffle.

3 Essential Building Blocks for Business. This panel discussion will focus on the 3 essential building blocks for any business. Panelists will discuss how to create and maintain a strong and sustainable business model, how to gain access to capital and fund your growth organically and why it’s important to build a strong team internally and externally.

• 10:45 – 11:30 a.m. – ENTREPRENEUR’S GARDEN
Create a Winning Mobile Strategy. This panel discussion will focus on creating a successful strategy for mobile marketing and productivity in your business.

• 11:30 a.m. – 12 Noon – Visit Lobby, Exhibitor Hall, and Community Corner vendors

• 12 Noon – 12:45 p.m. – Lunch

• 12:45 – 1:30 p.m. – ENTREPRENEUR’S SPIRIT
Social Entrepreneurism, Julie Colombino, Rebuild Globally. REBUILD Globally is a 501c (3) nonprofit organization operating an innovative social enterprise that helps earthquake survivors in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, earn a ustainable income. REBUILD’s artisans (mostly women) are trained, employed and equipped to produce high-quality, hand-crafted recycled tire sandals for sale in the international market.

• 1:30 – 2 p.m. – Silent Auction and Raffle Prizes: Nancy Peltonen, ABWA

• 2 p.m. – Closing Remarks: Beth Gitlin
