BREVARD COUNTY * FLORIDA — Brevard Zoo’s most anticipated annual gala, Safari Under the Stars, was a wildly successful event for the Zoo raising an estimated $275,000 from sponsorships, a live auction, a grand raffle and other activities the night of the event.

Guests attending the Zoo’s largest fundraiser were treated to delectable delicacies, libations, entertainment, a live auction and more. As a not-for-profit Zoo built by more than 16,000 volunteers almost 20 years ago, it is through the dedicated support of the community that it continues to be a vibrant, first-class venue that provides enjoyment, enrichment, education, recreation and economic support for our entire county. Unlike the vast majority of Zoos, Brevard Zoo does not receive any public funds for operations so events like Safari Under the Stars are critical to ensuring its future.

THE EVENING’S FESTIVITIES

As part of the evening’s festivities, several generous donors won the naming rights for some of the newest Zoo babies. The male jaguar cub was named Saban by Judy Piersall and Dave Soper.

Channel 6 News Anchor Lauren Rowe was the Master of Ceremonies.
