Sheriff’s Agents Investigate Murder/Suicide In Cocoa

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA, FLORIDA – A release from Brevard County Sheriff’s Office identifies the victims as  76-year-old Patricia Caddell and 89-year-old Edward Caddell.

Both were found inside their home yesterday after the couple did not show up for a dinner party.

The Brevard County Sheriff’s Office’s Homicide Unit leads investigators believe that the couple’s deaths were the result of a murder / suicide. According to  witnesses who knew the couple, Edward Caddell’s health started to decline recently.

According to Brevard County Sheriff’s Deputy Maria Fernez, the couple had been married for 50 years and Edward Caddell was a U.S. Navy veteran.

A firearm believed to have been used in the incident was recovered at the scene.

At this time, the investigation is ongoing. The Brevard County Medical Examiner will conduct autopsies on both victims, which are scheduled to be completed today.
