Tropical Storm Chantal: Tuesday A.M. Update

MAXIMUM WINDS INCREASE TO 65 MILES PER HOUR

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — The National Hurricane Center in Miami has issued an updated advisory on Tropical Storm Chantal. 

According to the National Hurricane Center, as of the Tuesday, July 9 morning update, Chantal is located at 13.8°N 59.7°W, moving West-Northwest at 29 miles per hour.

Maximum sustained winds at 65 miles per hour, with higher gusts.

Minimum central pressure 1006 MB. Tropical storm force winds extend outward up to 90 miles, mainly to the North of the center.
The center of Chantal will move way from the Lesser Antilles later today and continue over the Eastern Caribbean Sea this afternoon and tonight. Chantal is expected to be near or over the Dominican Republic on Wednesday.
