They will be braving the heat to collect donations from passing motorists.  Every dollar that is pitched into the fire fighters’ boots helps the MDA provide medical treatment and support services to individuals and their families living with neuromuscular diseases across eight counties in Central Florida, including Brevard County.

Specifically, funds raised by these fire departments will help send local children with muscle disease to MDA Summer Camp at Camp Thunderbird in Apopka.

Funds also assist with repairs of wheelchairs, leg braces and other durable medical equipment, help support MDA  clinics located at Nemours Children’s Hospital in Orlando and Shands Hospital in Gainesville, fund local research seeking treatments and cures to more than 43 neuromuscular diseases and much more!
