BREVARD COUNTY • MELBOURNE FLORIDA — Melbourne Police Department is investigating a homicide on the 3200 block of Redwood Lane in Melbourne.
According to Melbourne Police Sgt. Sheridan Shelley, the victim, Marchell Copeland Baker was shot late Thursday and the search continues to find a suspect.
According to mugshots.com, Baker was arrested for battery on a law enforcement officer, firefighter, emergency medical service personnel (paramedic/EMT) in 2007, cocaine possession in 2008 and burglary/assault in 2009.
The circumstances that led to the shooting are being investigated,” Shelley said.
“We encourage anyone who has information on this shooting, even if it seems like minor information, to contact us with this investigation. They can contact the Central Florida Crimeline and they will remain completely anonymous.”
