BREVARD COUNTY • VIERA, FLORIDA – The Brevard County Manatees snapped a four-game losing streak with an 8-3 win over the Tampa Yankees on Wednesday night at George M. Steinbrenner Field.

Brevard County (22-28 second half, 59-58 overall) jumped out to a 6-0 lead after one and a half innings and never looked back as they racked up 12 hits on the night.

The Manatees scored four runs right out of the gate with Nick Delmonico driving in three of them with a one-out double to right. Delmonico would later score on a wild pitch.

The second inning saw two-out RBIs from both Mitch Haniger and Greg Hopkins as Haniger drove in D’Vontrey Richardson with a single to left and Hopkins drew a bases loaded walk. Both Richardson and Yadiel Rivera went 3-for-5 on the night.

Tampa (22-27, 50-67) starting pitcher Bryan Mitchell lasted just 1.2 innings as he allowed six hits, walked four and uncorked two wild pitches.

For the Manatees, Mark Rogers (0-0, 4.91) was on the mound for his third Major League rehab start and he went 2.2 innings and yielded three hits, while striking out four.

The only run the Rogers allowed was on a wild pitch that allowed Cito Culver to score with two outs in the second.

BREVARD WILL CLOSE OUT SERIES TONIGHT AT 7 P.M.

Taylor Mangum came on in relief of Rogers and went 4.1 innings and allowed two-run homer to Matt Snyder in the bottom of the sixth as the Yankees cut the lead in half.

Brevard County and Tampa will close out both their three-game and season series on Thursday night at 7:00 p.m.

Those were the only runs that Mangum allowed as he gave up just three hits and walked one, while striking out two.
