UPDATE: Two Pedestrians Killed In Cocoa Beach

UPDATE: AUGUST 13, 2013 – 11 a.m.
COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – The female victim in last Saturday evening’s crash by a pickup truck at the intersection of North Atlantic Avenue and Shepard Drive has been identified as Dawn A. Lundquist, 39, according to the Cocoa Beach Police Department.
Lundquist, address unknown, and a male companion were reported to have stepped into the path of an oncoming vehicle in close proximity to the intersection. Lundquist was flown to Holmes Regional Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead.
The Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the manner of death as blunt force trauma and toxicology results are currently unavailable.
The male victim’s identity was not released.

BREVARD COUNTY • COCOA BEACH, FLORIDA – Two pedestrians were killed last night at approximately 10:23 p.m. in Cocoa Beach after being hit by a pickup truck at the intersection of North Atlantic Avenue and Shepard Drive (see above map), according to the Cocoa Beach Police Department.

The two pedestrians were attempting to cross North Atlantic Avenue, and their identity has not been released by authorities pending notification of next of kin.
One of the pedestrians was transported to Cape Canaveral Hospital and pronounced dead. The other pedestrian was airlifted to Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne and succumbed to their injuries.
The driver of the pick-up truck Robert Coffman, 33 of Cape Canaveral was not injured. The crash is still under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time.
