BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Space Coast Cancer Foundation’s 7th Annual Daffodil Gala is set for Saturday, Sept. 21 at the Holiday Inn in Viera.

Space Coast Cancer Foundation was established in May 2006 with the mission to assist cancer patients and their caregivers in the community with the financial and emotional demands that are associated with the diagnosis and treatment of cancer.

“This will be a fantastic and fun evening featuring a South Pacific theme – with proceeds benefiting local cancer patients in need,” said Dawn Faust, spokesperson for the Space Coast Cancer Foundation.

During the Gala, Space Coast Cancer Foundation will honor the Volunteers of the Year and Survivor of the Year, and the event will also included a silent auction and dinner.

“The Space Coast Cancer Foundation is dedicated to its mission of helping all who need a helping hand in the fight against cancer,” said Dr. Richard Levine, founder of the foundation.

“The SCCF provides financial assistance, as well as other aid, to individuals battling cancer, and the foundation also strives to promote community awareness of relevant healthcare issues through a variety of outreach functions.”

The SCCF also contributes to and supports the efforts of other non-profit and public healthcare organizations dedicated to reaching new breakthroughs in the detection and treatment of cancer.

As the Space Coast Cancer Foundation chairman, Dr. Levine is quick to note that the strength of the foundation is made possible only by the efforts of a dedicated team of professionals and volunteers.

Dr. Levine has been in Brevard County since 1983, and has a deep connection with the community. He still maintains regular contact with patients from his first year in practice. “They have become family,” he says.

“There’s no way you can do this by yourself,” said Dr. Levine. “I have great staff, management team, partners and volunteers. We all have the same mission of quality care and respect for the patient.”
