The victory was the sixth straight for the Titans and their third over NJCAA Region 8 foe Polk this season. The Titans improved to 9-2-1.

Eastern Florida, ranked 11th nationally by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America, led 1-0 at halftime on a goal by sophomore Devin McAllister, her second in two games.

“She scored on a rocket, it was amazing,” Eastern Florida head coach Jeff Carr said.

Polk tied the game at 1-1 but Eastern Florida put things away on sophomore Nikki Mitchell’s third goal in the last two games and a penalty kick by freshman Jamie Perriello.

Sophomores Katelyn Kern, who played the first half, and Amy Clason-Messina split the goaltending duties. Eastern Florida outshot Polk 25-3.

EFSC TO CLOSE REGULAR SEASON TOMORROW

Eastern Florida closes the regular season at 5 p.m. Friday at Region 8 foe Broward College, which it has defeated twice this season, in Pembroke Pines. The Titans are not scheduled to play again until they travel to Mississippi to face an opponent to be determined for NJCAA District H title and a berth in the NJCAA Division I Women’s National Championship Tournament to be contested Nov. 18-23 on the Melbourne Campus.

Eastern Florida reached the championship final last season, falling 3-0 to Paradise Valley Community College of Arizona.
