BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA — Mike “Beachside” Bickerstaff died peacefully at the dawn of a new day on 7 October 2013.

Bickerstaff-180
Mike Bickerstaff

Born to the sound of jets taking off at Maxwell AFB, Alabama, he was a Rebel with a soft spot in his heart for those he loved and liked. He spent many years in Hawaii and travelling the Far East, eventually returning to his home beaches.

A familiar figure riding his beloved bike along A1A, Mike is now riding that big wave in the sky and tending to God’s gardens, which could only be a blessing to the pride he took in his big wave riding and his love for plants and flowers that he treasured here on earth.

He is survived by his mother, Roslyn Bates, brother James Bickerstaff, sister Charlotte (Donnie) Jobe, and 5 nephews, Jimmy and Andy Bickerstaff, David and Steven Tunstill, and Jacob Kirschenbaum, all of whom he was very proud.

He was predeceased by his father, John Bickerstaff and sister, Suzie Kirschenbaum. Memorial services will be held at 1:30p.m., Sunday October 13, 2013 at Beach Funeral Home, on South Patrick Drive, Indian Harbour Beach. A Paddle Out will be held at a later date, for details please call 787-300-8207.
