GAME CAPSULES & PREDICTIONS

HERITAGE @ WESTWOOD

The Panthers are now ranked in the top 25 in Florida and #1 Ranked team in Brevard County will take on Westwood on what looks to be another lopsided game. Heritage has been beating its opponents by a 31-point margin this season and they don’t appear that they’re about to slow down. Westwood has struggled this season scoring points with only 3 TD’s all season. Westwood will need to find a away to pull the upset or it will be eliminated from the playoff contention. Heritage in this one with another blow out district win.

Key Players: Heritage: Clinton Moxam (Sr. QB), Josh Gaines (So. RB), Dedric Witherspoon (Sr. ATH) Westwood: Fredrick Johnson (Sr. WR)

Prediction: Heritage 40 Westwood 0

DAYTONA SEABREEZE @ COCOA

Cocoa will face its toughest opponent this week in Daytona Seabreeze. Seabreeze sports an explosive offense led by senior quarterback Connor Blair and senior Charles Nelson, who plays multiple positions and has 10 NCAA Division 1 scholarship offers. Seabreeze had a huge win last week against Bartram Trail 49-36. Cocoa will look to neutralize their the Seabreeze offensive attack with great team defense. Senior defensive tackle Freddie Booth-Lloyd senior linebacker James Folston (Purdue,Minnesota Offers), junior defensive back Jamel Dean(Ohio State Offer), sophomore defensive back, Chauncey Gardner (Miami Commit), and senior defensive back Jamel Jackson( South Alabama offer) lead one of the best defense in Cocoa History. Senior Defensive Lineman Lane Burnett and Tavares Parks are also key players to pull the upset for Cocoa.

Key Players Cocoa: Freddy Booth-Lloyd (Sr. DT), Jamel Dean (Jr. ATH), Bruce Judson (Fr.QB) Seabreeze: Connor Blair(Sr, QB), Charles Nelson (Sr,ATH) Prediction: Cocoa 28 Seabreeze 21

MELBOURNE CENTRAL CATHOLIC @ MONTVERDE ACADEMY

MCC will travel to Montverde Academy this week after surviving First Academy 31-28 scoring with seconds remaining. The Hustlers are now in the perceived weaker side of its schedule and most stay focused to remain unbeaten. Look for three juniors: quarterback Brandon Ziarno , wide receivers Max Erdman and Austin Pearlman to dominate offensively, along with senior running back Alec LeFlore. Key Players MCC: Max Erdman(Jr. WR), Austin Perlman (Jr. WR), Brandon Ziarno (Jr. QB) Prediction: MCC 35 Montverde Academy 7 Montverde Academy: Tyler Declercq (So. QB)

BAYSIDE @ MELBOURNE

Bayside is on “Upset Alert” due to their sub par defensive performances. Conversely, Melbourne has shown great improvement during its two game win streak. Melbourne will look to control the game lead by establishing its running game and keeping Bayside offense on the sideline. Look for Melbourne to give the Bears all they can handle in a close game.

Key Players Bayside: William Harrell (Sr.RB), Lucious McKay (Sr. ATH), Greg Miclisse (Sr. LB) Melbourne: Dwane Robinson(Sr. QB), Bryson Hill(Sr. RB)

Prediction: Melbourne 21 Bayside 17 (UPSET ALERT)

SPACE COAST @ POINCIANA

Space Coast’s offense has scored at least 26 points in every contest this season. The Vipers are led by quarterback Nick Rittenhouse (FAU/Nothwestern offer) who leads the county in passing with 1,256 passing yards. Poinciana has a good passer as well in senior quarterback Jonathan Lindstrom. Poinciana lacks a solid running game and will find Space Coast defense tough to handle. Space Coast wins this in a rout.

Key Players: Nick Rittenhouse (Sr. QB), Chase Colantino (Sr,WR) Poinciana: Jonathan Lindstrom(Sr,QB)

Prediction: Space Coast 42 Poinciana 10

ATLANTIC @ VIERA

This week’s opponent Atlantic will feature star running back Chris Jones, who has committed to UCF, as well as junior wide receiver Matthew Marconi.  Viera will need to play tough defense to avoid the upset. Look for Zack Blanch (So,RB) to have a big game. Also look for Cody Dentmon to utilize his arm strength as well as his speed to lead Viera team to a close win.

Key Players: Viera: Tre Nixon (So. WR), Devin Nixon (Jr. ATH), Cody Dentmon (Sr. QB) Atlantic: Chris Jones (Sr,RB)
