Florida Tech is coming off of a 16-11 season and returns three of its starters from a program that went 9-1 to finish the regular season – Chris Carter, Jermaine Jackson and David Usic. The trio combined for more than 50 percent of FIT’s points last season and Carter and Jackson formed one of the NCAA’s top scoring backcourts last season, averaging 17.9 and 17.3 points per game, respectively. Rounding out the starting five for the Panthers are Akeem Johnson and Corbin Jackson.

Newcomers Robert Booth, Matia Divac and Max Fischer are set to make major contributions in their freshman campaigns. George Meaden, Kevin Bolhuis, Cameron Stahl, Nick Stahl, Derick Pope, Nigel Alexander and Berkley Bonjonia played in at least 10 games last season and return to the Panther bench. Jordan Majors will redshirt the 2013-14 campaign due to injury while Isaac Spence rejoins Florida Tech after redshirting the 2012-13 season.

Head coach Billy Mims enters his ninth season at the helm of the Panther men’s basketball squad and is just four wins away from setting the all-time wins record at Florida Tech. Mims is currently 122-108 at FIT.

Paine returns nine players from a team that finished 14-15 overall and 10-8 in the SIAC. The Lions welcome nine newcomers. Ricky Jackson is in his debut season as the head coach of Claflin University and looks to rebuild after CU finished the 2012-13 season 10-16, 8-10 in the conference.
